Traffic Advisory: Partial Street Closure
As the construction project makes progress, we wanted to make you aware of a temporary impact to vehicle traffic flow on the church campus starting Friday, May 30th.
The section of the street directly in front of the main building along the area with construction fencing – from the construction trailer to the corner that intersects with the dead-end street – will be closed temporarily. The dead-end street east of S. 37th St. will also be closed during this time.
The construction company will be delivering steel to the site, and erecting cranes for transferring the steel from the staging area to the construction area.
All current parking areas will remain open and accessible during this time.
Parking lot entrances will not be impacted, with one exception: the side entrance to the south campus lower level will be unavailable during the street closure. The lower level parking area can still be accessed by using the parking entrance for the church offices building on S. 37th Street and following the lot around the side of the building. Go slow and use caution when rounding the corners on the way around as there is reduced visibility.
The entrance to the handicap-only parking lot and the drop-off area will be open and accessible. If you use that lot and normally approach the church coming from 36th Street, you might find it easier to get to the drop-off lot by taking Lexington Ave. or Guretsky Dr. over to 39th Street and approaching the lot entrance from the west.
The street closure is expected to last just a few weeks. Please continue to take your time and exercise extra caution when driving through the parking areas on campus. Thank you!
